At Kamsons Pharmacy, we offer a streamlined process to help you begin your weight loss journey with the support of a healthcare professional. Here’s how it works:
1. Complete an Online Consultation Form
Begin by filling out our simple online consultation form, where you will provide details about your medical history, current health status, and weight loss goals. This information allows our pharmacists to determine whether weight loss injections are suitable for you. The consultation is confidential and quick, taking only a few minutes to complete.
2. Pharmacist Assessment
Once your online consultation is submitted, one of our expert pharmacists will carefully review your information. This step is crucial to ensure that the chosen medication is safe and appropriate for your individual needs. Our pharmacists are fully trained and experienced in managing weight loss treatments, so you can trust that you are in capable hands.
3. Prescription Sent to Your Chosen Branch
If your consultation is approved, your prescription will be sent to your selected Kamsons Pharmacy branch for collection. We will notify you as soon as your medication is ready. You can then book a full consultation with one of our pharmacists, who will provide detailed guidance on how to use the medication effectively and safely.
Weight loss injection service: How much does it cost?
The service costs per month is dependant on the strength of your dose, it includes the cost of your consultations plus your Mounjaro/ Wegovy pens, needles and sharps bins for that month.

Who is eligible for the weight loss service?
This service is available to individuals with a BMI of 30 or above. If your BMI is 27 or higher and you have one or more weight-related health conditions, you may also be eligible. A consultation with a pharmacist is required to ensure the service is safe and suitable for your individual needs.
How does the medication work?
Mounjaro is a weight loss injection that contains tirzepatide, which may help to improve insulin regulation and may reduce appetite by promoting feelings of fullness after smaller meals. It can help to stabilise blood sugar levels, reduce cravings, and boost energy. This can help the body efficiently burn fat while maintaining a calorie deficit for weight loss. Mounjaro is effective when combined with a healthy, balanced diet and regular exercise. Wegovy works in a very similar way but contains an ingredient called semaglutide.
What kind of support can I expect?
You’ll begin with an initial consultation with your Kamsons pharmacist, who will guide you through the process of starting Mounjaro or Wegovy and explain everything you need to know. Once you begin the medication, you’ll have monthly follow-up consultations where your pharmacist, familiar with your medical history and goals, will provide ongoing support. They will offer lifestyle tips, ensure your Mounjaro or Wegovy dosage is optimal, and assist you in every way possible to help you achieve your weight loss goals.
Are there any side effects of Mounjaro or Wegovy?
Like all medications, Mounjaro and Wegovy may cause some side effects. Common ones include nausea, diarrhoea, decreased appetite and vomiting. These side effects can lead to dehydration, so it’s especially important for individuals with kidney issues to stay well-hydrated to avoid worsening kidney function.
