Erectile Dysfunction Prescribing
Erectile Dysfunction (impotence) is the inability to develop or maintain an erection. It is a common problem, mainly in men over the age of 40.
Impotence can be caused by a variety of reasons ranging from stress and depression to certain health conditions or medication. It is estimated that around 4.3 million men across the UK experience symptoms of Erectile Dysfunction.
In most cases it is possible to treat the symptoms however due to embarrassment many men do not seek help from a healthcare professional
Treating your symptoms
There are two ways that we can help which are detailed below. It is recommended that you visit the GP if you start to experience symptoms of Erectile Dysfunction. This is to highlight if an underlying medical condition is causing the problem.
It is now possible to purchase Viagra Connect over the counter. To purchase this medicine you must partake in a short private consultation with a member of the pharmacy team. The member of staff will have undertaken specific training on Viagra Connect. They will be able to answer any concerns that you may have.
The consultation will include personal questions, be assured that any answers you provide are in strict confidence. Please answer these questions honestly as they are to ensure your safety. During the consultation if the supply is deemed suitable you will be given a slip which covers the next 6 months. When making future purchases this slip will bypass the need for a consultation however you must inform us of any changes.
Our Prescribing Service
In certain circumstances it may be more appropriate for the pharmacist to recommend our prescribing service. One of our Independent Prescribers can write a private prescription using the answers to a questionnaire that you have completed in store.
Although it is not possible to collect the prescription instantly when you complete the questionnaire, we aim to have the prescription ready for collection within 1.5 working days.
