    Pharmacy-led weight management service

    Personalised weight management support

Everyone’s circumstances are different. Our pharmacy-led weight management service provides personalised support for adults who would like professional help managing their weight.

You’ll complete a confidential consultation so that our pharmacist prescriber can understand your health, medical history, current medicines and weight management goals.

Following your assessment, we’ll discuss the options that may be appropriate for you and explain the next steps.

Where appropriate, your care can include regular reviews, lifestyle support, monitoring and clinically appropriate treatment.

A consultation does not guarantee that treatment will be recommended or prescribed. All treatment decisions are based on an individual clinical assessment.

    Why patients choose Kamsons Pharmacy

    Regular face-to-face support

With Kamsons, you can access ongoing support from your local pharmacy team. Regular reviews provide an opportunity to discuss your progress, ask questions and review your care.

    A personalised approach

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to weight management. Your pharmacist prescriber will consider your individual circumstances, health, medical history and goals when assessing which options may be appropriate for you.

    Ongoing monitoring

Weight management is a journey rather than a single appointment. Where appropriate, we’ll provide regular reviews and monitoring to help you understand your progress and address any questions or concerns.

Support from your local pharmacy team

Questions don’t just happen during appointments.

If you have questions or concerns between appointments, contact your pharmacy team during opening hours by phone or in person. We’ll be here to provide advice, reassurance and ongoing support throughout your treatment.

How our weight management service works

    1. Complete an online consultation form

Start by completing our online consultation form. We’ll ask about your health, medical history, current medicines, lifestyle and weight management goals.

Your answers help our pharmacist prescriber understand your individual circumstances and determine whether our service may be appropriate for you.

    2. Clinical Assessment

A qualified pharmacist prescriber will review the information you’ve provided as part of an individual clinical assessment. If the service is appropriate for you, we’ll arrange a call and  explain the options available and answer any questions you may have.

Any treatment recommendation will be based on your individual clinical circumstances and professional assessment.

    3. Discuss your options

If our service is appropriate for you, we’ll discuss the options available and explain the potential benefits, risks and expected costs.

You don’t need to know which option is right for you before starting your consultation.

    4. Ongoing support

Where appropriate, you’ll receive ongoing support and regular reviews from your Kamsons pharmacy team.

We’ll review your progress, discuss any concerns and reassess your care where clinically appropriate.

Not sure which weight management approach is right for you?

You don’t need to know which option is right for you before completing your consultation.

Your pharmacist prescriber will consider your individual circumstances, medical history, current medicines, health and goals as part of your assessment.

If appropriate, we’ll explain the options available to you, including their potential benefits, risks and what ongoing support may involve.

This gives you the opportunity to make an informed decision about your care with support from a qualified healthcare professional.

Treatment is subject to an individual clinical assessment and a consultation does not guarantee that a particular treatment will be recommended or prescribed.

    Treatment and ongoing costs

We understand that the financial commitment involved in ongoing treatment is an important consideration.

You should never feel that you have to continue with treatment that is not affordable or appropriate for your circumstances.

Your pharmacist prescriber will discuss the treatment options that may be clinically appropriate for you, including the expected ongoing costs, so that you can make an informed decision about whether to proceed. Your treatment will be reviewed regularly, and any changes to your treatment will be based on your individual clinical circumstances, response to treatment and clinical need.

Not everyone will need to progress to the highest available dose. Some patients may remain on a lower dose as part of their ongoing treatment where this is clinically appropriate. Your prescriber will determine the most appropriate dose for you based on your individual circumstances and response to treatment.

If your circumstances or budget change, speak to your pharmacist prescriber. They can review your situation and discuss the options available to you.

We’ll explain the appropriate options and expected ongoing costs before you decide whether to proceed.

Completing the consultation does not commit you to ongoing treatment or future purchases.

    Weight management service: our prices

We believe you should understand the cost of your care before deciding whether to proceed.

The cost of treatment depends on the option that is clinically appropriate for you and the level of ongoing support required.

Following your clinical assessment, we’ll explain the relevant costs before you decide whether to proceed.

There is no obligation to continue with treatment, and completing the consultation does not commit you to future purchases.

    Clear and transparent pricing

Your pharmacist prescriber will discuss the expected cost with you before you proceed with chargeable treatment.
