Inhaler Technique
Asthma is a condition that affects your airways – the small tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs. Common symptoms of asthma can include:
- coughing
- wheezing
- tightness in the chest
- feeling short of breath.
Not all sufferers of asthma will experience all of the above symptoms. If you think you may have asthma you must make an appointment with your GP.

How to use your inhaler
Many patients who suffer with asthma use an inhaler to take their medicines. An inhaler means the medicine reaches your lungs quickly and directly.
If you use a good inhaler technique you are less likely to experience side effects
Asthma UK have created lots of handy videos to show you how to use your inhaler properly. The full list of videos can be found here.
