    8th June 2020

Nearly all of our pharmacies are operating as usual and open for all of their normal opening times.

Should we have branches with staff off ill or isolating then we may have to make quick decisions to close these for a while over lunch too but hopefully this won’t be necessary.

Currently, our branches in Furnace Green in Crawley is closed from 1pm to 2pm each day and Langney in Eastbourne is closed 12pm to 2pm on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th June.

We will be restricting numbers entering our pharmacies so you may have to wait outside. You must then stand well away from the counter and away from other people. Only contactless payments will normally be accepted.

Paracetamol tablets and hand sanitisers are now in stock in our pharmacies.

Our pharmacy teams have experienced unprecedented demand to continue to offer our patients and customers access to medicines and high quality service. We have kept our services open to everyone whilst we can and everyone of our pharmacies has remained open each working day throughout this pandemic.

If you have a cough, loss of taste or smell or a temperature, please do not come into our pharmacies. Guidance as to whether you need to self-isolate is available online at https://111.nhs.uk

We will try to provide a high level of service to everyone during the current pandemic.

Most surgeries are taking a few days longer to process prescription requests. Most of our pharmacies no longer have a backlog but it would help if you allow a couple of days extra for prescriptions to be dispensed and note that deliveries are available but can take an extra three days.

Some of our staff have been subject to isolation and this will delay services further.

    Your patience will be appreciated.

Our delivery service is currently provided free of charge.  We will continue to provide deliveries to the best of our ability and are prioritising deliveries to patients who have been told by letter or text to shield for 12 weeks.

If you wish to know if  your prescription is ready, please telephone the relevant pharmacy. If the phone line is engaged, it means that the pharmacy is busy. Unfortunately, the information about your prescription is just held by the pharmacy and using the contact form links to the Kamsons office is no quicker as it does not hold your prescription information. We are hoping to start rolling out text notification to inform you when your prescription is ready in the next few months.

    How you can help?

    • If you are ill or isolating, please ask someone else to come and collect or buy your medicines.
    • Before requesting a delivery for the first time, please ask your friends or family to collect your medicines for you.
    • If you normally receive delivery of medicines from us and you have friends or family able to collect them, then please consider asking them. However, you must telephone your regular Kamsons Pharmacy in good time to say that your medicine will be collected, otherwise it will be dispensed separately for delivery will not be readily available in the pharmacy.
    • Order your prescriptions from your surgery in good time, but do not over-order.
    • At the moment, using the Patient Access or NHS phone app will be quicker than ordering via our website
    • Be patient, like all health services we are experiencing high levels of demand.
    • Do not contact us via this website to ask where your prescription is. Please phone your pharmacy or surgery instead. If the phone is not being answered it is because they are busy.

    What can you do?

    • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.
    • Check the latest guidance at https://www.nhs.uk/
    • Please ensure that you have nominated Kamsons to receive your electronic prescriptions. With many doctors’ practices closing their doors to patients walking in without an appointment, you will not be able to easily collect prescriptions from your surgery.
    • Treat our staff with kindness- our pharmacy teams have been working harder than ever to try and help as many as they can.
